Permissible Speed for Ambulances on Duty

Based on Article 22 of the Road Traffic Law 2008, it is stipulated as follows:

1. The following vehicles have the right of way over other vehicles when passing through intersections from any direction in the following order:

a) Firefighting vehicles on duty;

b) Military vehicles, police vehicles on urgent duty, motorcades with police escort vehicles;

c) Ambulances performing emergency duties;

d) Dyke protection vehicles, vehicles on duty to address natural disaster, epidemic incidents, or vehicles on duty in emergency situations as prescribed by law;

e) Funeral processions.

2. Vehicles specified in points a, b, c and d of Clause 1 of this Article, when performing their duties, must have the signal of sirens, flags, and lights as prescribed; not be subject to speed limits; are allowed to go in the opposite direction, on roads that may be traveled, even when there is a red traffic signal, and must only follow the instructions of traffic controllers.

Thus, according to the above regulation, ambulances on duty will not be subject to speed limits in this case.
