Penalty for Motorcycles Entering the BRT Lane
According to Clause 1, Article 9 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law, traffic participants must travel on the right side in the direction of their movement, follow the designated lanes and sections of the road, and comply with the road signaling system.
Therefore, operating your motorcycle in the BRT bus lane constitutes traveling in the incorrect lane or road section.
According to Point g, Clause 3, Article 6 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP: A fine ranging from 400,000 VND to 600,000 VND shall be imposed on the driver for committing any of the following violations:
Operating a vehicle not on the right side in their direction; traveling in the incorrect lane or road section (same-direction lane or opposite-direction lane); driving through the fixed median strip between two sections of roadway; driving on the sidewalk, except in the case of driving over the sidewalk to enter a house.
Therefore, in the case you operate your motorcycle in the BRT lane, you will be fined from 400,000 VND to 600,000 VND.
