Penalties for Stopping a Car on a Fixed Median Strip Between Two Roadways
According to Clause 1, Article 18 of the Road Traffic Law 2008, it is stipulated:
Stopping means the temporary immobility of a vehicle for the necessary time sufficient for people to get on or off the vehicle, load or unload goods, or perform other tasks.
Additionally, Point h, Clause 2, Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP stipulates:
- A fine ranging from VND 400,000 to VND 600,000 shall be imposed on drivers who commit one of the following violations:
Stopping, parking on the roadway in rural areas where there is a wide shoulder; stopping, parking without being close to the right-hand edge in narrow or no shoulder areas; stopping, parking against the traffic direction of the lane; stopping, parking on the median strip separating two carriageways; parking on slopes without wheel chocks; opening car doors, leaving doors open in an unsafe manner;
In the event of the above violations causing a traffic accident, the driver's license will be suspended for 02 to 04 months.
