Non-Compliance with Traffic Signal Lights: How are Automobile Drivers Penalized?
Section 5a, Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP stipulates a fine ranging from VND 3,000,000 to VND 5,000,000 for automobile operators who commit one of the following violations:
Failure to comply with traffic signal lights.
In addition to the monetary fine, the vehicle operator who commits the violation shall also be subject to the following additional penalties (Section 11b,c):
- Revocation of the driver's license for a period from 01 month to 03 months;
- If causing a traffic accident, revocation of the driver's license for a period from 02 months to 04 months.
Thus, in the case where an automobile operator fails to comply with traffic signal lights, they may be fined from VND 3,000,000 to VND 5,000,000.
