Is it possible to obtain an A1 driver's license with vision in only one eye?
According to Clause 1 Article 58 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law: Drivers participating in traffic must be of the appropriate age and health as stipulated in Article 60 of this Law and have a driver's license suitable for the type of vehicle they are permitted to drive, issued by the competent state authority.
Based on Section III Appendix 1 of Joint Circular 24/2015/TTLT-BYT-BGTVT stipulating the standards for drivers of A1 class vehicles, individuals with one of the following medical conditions are not eligible to drive corresponding vehicle classes:
- Distance vision in both eyes: <4/10 (including correction by glasses).
- If only one eye is left, the vision in that eye <4/10 (including correction by glasses).
According to this regulation, it is understood that an individual with only one eye, as long as the vision in that eye is 4/10 or above (including correction by glasses), can still apply for an A1 class driver's license.
In your case, despite having only one eye, if the vision in that eye is 7/10, you are still eligible to apply for an A1 class license.
Best regards!
