Is a Mechanical Engineering College Graduate Eligible to Become a Motor Vehicle Inspector?
According to Clause 1, Article 14 of Decree 139/2018/ND-CP, the conditions for issuing a motor vehicle inspector certificate are as follows:
- Professional qualification: Graduated from a university majoring in Mechanical Engineering, with the following contents included in the university training program: Automobile Theory, Automobile Structure, Automobile Design Calculation, Automobile Technical Maintenance, Internal Combustion Engines, and Automobile Electricity or equivalent contents. In cases where the above contents are not fully covered, supplementary training may be received at universities;
- Have at least 12 months of internship in inspection practices as stipulated by the Ministry of Transport;
- Have an assessment result meeting the requirements for the professional capability of motor vehicle inspectors as stipulated by the Ministry of Transport. The assessment results are represented in a Record according to the form prescribed in Appendix IV issued with this Decree;
- Hold a valid automobile driving license.
