Based on Article 13 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT (amended by Clause 8 Article 4 of Circular 05/2024/TT-BGTVT), the training for B1, B2, and C driving licenses is regulated as follows:
Training for B1, B2, and C Driving Licenses:
1. Examination and issuance of vocational basic certificates, training certificates
a) Examination at the end of the theoretical lesson using the theoretical examination question set (including subjects such as Road Traffic Law; Structure and Common Repairs; Transport Operations; Ethics, Traffic Culture, Prevention of Alcohol and Fire Hazards, Rescue and Assistance in Traffic) and simulation of traffic situations.
b) Examination at the end of the practical driving lesson with continuous exercises, reverse L-shaped exercises, and driving on the road.
c) Issuance of vocational basic certificates or training certificates for students who meet the requirements specified in points a and b of this provision.

14. Cases of driving license revocation include:
a) Drivers who engage in deceitful acts to obtain a driving license;
b) Drivers who erase, alter, or distort information on the driving license;
c) Allowing others to use their driving license;
d) Issuance of a license to individuals who do not meet the requirements;
e) Errors in personal information such as name, date of birth, nationality, place of residence, license category, issuance date, selection date, or signature;
f) Through health examinations, the competent authority determines the presence of drugs in the driver's body (except for cases handled according to the provisions of Point c and Point d of Article 10; Point h and Point i of Article 8 of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP dated December 30, 2019).

How long is the re-examination period for drivers whose licenses in Vietnam have expired?
Based on Clause 1 Article 36 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT (amended by Point a Clause 27 Article 4 of Circular 05/2024/TT-BGTVT), the reissuance of driving licenses is regulated as follows:
Reissuance of Driving Licenses
1. Individuals with expired driving licenses:
a) For licenses expired for a period from 3 months to less than 1 year, starting from the expiration date, they must retake the theoretical examination as stipulated in Point a of Article 4 of this Circular to have their driving licenses reissued.
b) For licenses expired for a period of 1 year or more, starting from the expiration date, they must retake the theoretical examination as stipulated in Point a of Article 4 of this Circular and undergo practical driving tests on the training ground and public roads to have their driving licenses reissued.
c) The reexamination application shall be processed in accordance with the regulations stated in Point 3 of Article 19 of this Circular.
