How long after purchasing a used car must one complete the procedure for obtaining a new vehicle registration certificate?
At Clause 4, Article 6 of Circular 58/2020/TT-BCA, it stipulates:
Within 30 days from the date of completing the procedures for transferring vehicle ownership, the organization or individual that purchased, received the transfer, was given, donated, allocated, or inherited the vehicle must go to the vehicle registration authority to complete the procedures for issuing registration and license plates.
=> Accordingly, under the aforementioned regulation, within 30 days from the date of completing the ownership transfer procedures, the buyer of a used vehicle is responsible for completing the procedures for reissuing the registration and license plates (if the provinces are different).
