How is a Road Designated Exclusively for Motor Vehicles Defined?
At Article 3 of National Technical Regulation QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT (effective from July 1, 2020) on Road Signs, it is stipulated:
Roads designated exclusively for motor vehicles means the roads, road sections, or lanes designated exclusively for motor vehicle traffic, separated from roads designated for rudimentary vehicles and pedestrians by dividers or solid longitudinal lines and indicated by road signs or road markings.
Additionally, the Regulation also stipulates:
Roads passing through densely populated areas means the road sections located within inner cities, inner district-level towns, inner commune-level towns, and road sections with residents living alongside the road, engaging in activities that may affect road traffic safety and identified by signs as roads passing through densely populated areas (if necessary, they may be specifically identified for each direction of travel).
