How Are Waterway Signage Buoys Used?
Based on Section 1.7, Part I of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 39:2011/BGTVT issued together with Circular 08/2020/TT-BGTVT (effective from November 1, 2020), the regulation stipulates:
Signal-bearing objects are objects to carry signals:
- Fixed (commonly referred to as poles, pillars, frames, or other structural forms):
+ Placed on the right bank: Signal-bearing objects have alternating red and white colors
+ Placed on the left bank: Signal-bearing objects have alternating green and white colors
+ At channel division locations: Signal-bearing objects have alternating red, white, green, and white colors
- Floating signals:
+ Placed on the right bank: Signal-bearing objects have a red color
+ Placed on the left bank: Signal-bearing objects have a green color
+ At channel division locations: Signal-bearing objects have alternating red and green colors in the shape of a starfruit slice.
+ Placed in locations with obstacles on wide waterways (greater than 500m): Buoys have alternating red and black colors in the shape of a starfruit slice.
