Pursuant to Article 8 of Circular 68/2024/TT-BQP on the age of individuals eligible for a military driver license:
Article 8. Age of individuals eligible for a military driver license
- Military personnel, national defense officials, defense public workers, contract laborers serving in the Ministry of National Defense who are 18 years or older are eligible for a military driving license class A1, A, B1, B, C1, C.
- Military personnel, national defense officials, defense public workers, contract laborers serving in the Ministry of National Defense who are 24 years or older are eligible for a military driving license class D1, D2, C1E, CE, CX.
In cases of training transitioning from class C to class CE or CX according to the criteria set by the General Staff, individuals must be 19 years or older.
- Military personnel, national defense officials, defense public workers, contract laborers serving in the Ministry of National Defense who are 27 years or older are eligible for a military driver license class D. The maximum age for individuals eligible for a military driver license class D is 57 years for men and 55 years for women.
According to the above regulations, the individuals eligible for a military driver license include:
- Military driving licenses class A1, A, B1, B, C1, C are issued to military personnel, national defense officials, defense public workers, contract laborers serving in the Ministry of National Defense who are 18 years or older.
- Military driving licenses class D1, D2, C1E, CE, CX are issued to military personnel, national defense officials, defense public workers, contract laborers serving in the Ministry of National Defense who are 24 years or older.

Pursuant to clause 2 Article 6 of Circular 68/2024/TT-BQP on the format and validity period of military driver licenses:

Thus, the following military driver licenses has no expiration date:
[1] Class A1 is issued for operating two-wheeled motorcycles with engine displacement up to 125 cc or electric motor power up to 11 kW.
[2] Class A is issued for operating two-wheeled motorcycles with engine displacement over 125 cc or electric motor power over 11 kW and vehicles specified for a military driver license class A1.
[3] Class B1 is issued for operating three-wheeled motorcycles and vehicles specified for a military driver license class A1.
How many points does a military driver license in Vietnam have?
Pursuant to Article 7 of Circular 68/2024/TT-BQP on the points of a military driver license:
Article 7. Points of a military driver license
- A military driver license comprises 12 points as regulated by the Law on Traffic Order and Safety for Road Traffic, used to manage compliance with the law regarding road traffic order and safety by the driver. The number of points deducted each time depends on the nature and severity of the violation according to the legal provisions. A driver license that has not been completely deducted and has not been subjected to deductions for 12 months from the last deduction will be restored to full 12 points.
- In cases where a military driver license is fully deducted, after at least 6 months from the date of full deduction, the holder of the military driver license is allowed to participate in a legal knowledge test on road traffic organized at a military driving training facility as prescribed at point a clause 1 Article 40 and clause 41 of this Circular, if the result is satisfactory, full 12 points will be restored.
