Based on Clause 4, Article 18 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety 2024 stipulating the stopping and parking of vehicles:

4. Drivers participating in road traffic shall not stop or park their vehicles at the following locations:
a) On the left side of a one-way street;
b) On a curved road section or near the top of a slope where visibility is obscured;
c) On a bridge, except in cases where traffic organization permits;
d) Under an overpass, except where stopping or parking is permitted;
dd) Parallel to another vehicle that is already stopped or parked on the road;
e) Less than 20 meters from a vehicle parked in the opposite direction on a narrow street, less than 40 meters on a road with a single lane for motor vehicles in one direction;
g) On a pedestrian crossing;
h) At intersections and within 5 meters from the edge of the intersection;

As such, drivers participating in road traffic in Vietnam shall not stop or park vehicles at the following locations:
- On the left side of a one-way street
- On a curved road section or near the top of a slope where visibility is obscured
- On a bridge, except in cases where traffic organization permits
- Under an overpass, except where stopping or parking is permitted
- Parallel to another vehicle that is already stopped or parked on the road
- Less than 20 meters from a vehicle parked in the opposite direction on a narrow street, less than 40 meters on a road with a single lane for motor vehicles in one direction
- On a pedestrian crossing
- At intersections and within 5 meters from the edge of the intersection
- At passenger loading and unloading points
- In front of and within 5 meters on either side of the entrance to the headquarters of an agency or organization with a designated entry/exit road for vehicles
- In areas where the road width only accommodates one lane for motor vehicles
- Within the safety perimeter of railways
- Obstructing road signs and traffic lights
- On roads designated for buses, over drainage covers, manholes of telephone lines, high voltage power lines, and designated fire hydrants; on streets and sidewalks contrary to the law

What are the general rules when participating in road traffic in Vietnam?
Based on Article 10 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety 2024, the general rules when participating in road traffic in Vietnam are as follows:
- Road traffic participants must travel on the right side of their direction, follow the designated lanes and road sections, obey road signals, and other road traffic rules.
- Drivers and passengers in cars must fasten their seat belts in positions where seat belts are equipped when participating in road traffic.
- When carrying children under 10 years old and shorter than 1.35 meters in a car, children must not sit in the same row as the driver, except for cars with only one row of seats; drivers must use and guide the use of appropriate safety devices for children. (This regulation takes effect from January 01, 2026)
