Forgot to Bring Vehicle Documents: Can a Relative Bring Them Over?
According to Clause 2, Article 58 of the Road Traffic Law 2008, the driver, when operating the vehicle, must carry the following documents:
- Vehicle registration;
- Driver's license for operators of motor vehicles as specified in Article 59 of this Law;
- Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection for motor vehicles as specified in Article 55 of this Law;
- Certificate of civil liability insurance of the motor vehicle owner.
According to this regulation, in principle, at the time of inspection, if the violator does not present these documents, they will be handled according to the provisions of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP.
Currently, there is no regulation that requires traffic police to wait for the violator to bring the driver's license and vehicle documents if they do not have them at the time of inspection.
Therefore, at the time of inspection and making the administrative violation record, the traffic police will not accept that the violator asks relatives to bring the vehicle documents.
Sincerely!
