Does a Lost Class B2 Driver's License That Has Expired Require a Reexamination?

According to Clause 2, Article 36, Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT on the reissuance of driver's licenses, it is stipulated as follows:

Individuals who have lost their driver's license, which is still valid or has expired for less than 03 months, may be considered for reissuance of the driver's license.

According to the aforementioned regulation, if you have lost your B2 driver's license and the license has expired for 02 months, you are eligible for reissuance without having to take the retest.

You need to prepare the following dossier to apply for the reissuance of your B2 driver's license:

- An application form for reissuance of a driver's license, following the prescribed form in Appendix 19 issued with Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT;

- The original dossier that corresponds with the driver's license (if available);

- A health certificate for the driver issued by a competent medical authority per the regulations;

- A copy of the identity card or citizen identification card or passport that is still valid and includes the identification number or citizen identification number.

This dossier should be submitted to the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam or the Department of Transport to be reissued the driver's license.
