Concept of Lane According to the Road Traffic Law 2008
Definition of Lane according to the 2008 Road Traffic Law
Legal basis: Article 3 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law
A lane is part of the carriageway divided longitudinally along the road, with sufficient width for vehicles to travel safely.
How is the use of lanes regulated?
Based on Article 13 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law, the use of lanes is regulated as follows:
On roads with multiple lanes going in the same direction, distinguished by lane markings, the vehicle operator must drive within a single lane and only change lanes at designated places; when changing lanes, there must be a prior signal and it must be done safely.
On one-way roads with lane markings, non-motorized vehicles must use the rightmost lane, while motor vehicles and specific-use machinery must use the left lane.
Vehicles participating in road traffic that move at a slower speed must keep to the right.
Respectfully!
