Classification of Inland Waterway Signals
Based on Section 1.5 Part I of the National Technical Regulation QCVN 39:2011/BGTVT issued with Circular 08/2020/TT-BGTVT (effective from November 01, 2020) stipulates:
Inland waterway signaling is divided into 3 types (groups):
- Channel-guiding signals to indicate the boundaries of the channel or the direction of vessel movement: These are signals that define the width boundaries, indicate positions, or show the direction of the channel to guide vessels to follow the correct route.
- Signals indicating dangerous positions: These are signals that inform vessel operators of the locations of obstacles and dangerous positions or areas within the channel to avoid.
- Instructional announcement signals: These are signals that inform about the situations related to the channel or the sailing conditions so that vessel operators can promptly take preventive and handling measures. This includes signals indicating prohibitions, restrictions, or instructions related to the channel.
We respond with this information to you.
