Changing Car Paint Color During Re-Registration: Is It Required to Bring the Vehicle?
According to Clause 2, Article 6 of Circular 58/2020/TT-BCA, it is stipulated that:
- Bring the vehicle to the vehicle registration authority for inspection for first-time registration, vehicle re-registration under a new owner's name, modified vehicles, and vehicles with changed paint color.
- Before modifying the vehicle or changing the paint color (including drawing, painting, advertising), the vehicle owner must declare on the electronic information page of the Traffic Police Department in the section for vehicle modification declaration, paint color change, or directly go to the vehicle registration authority and obtain confirmation from the registration authority before making the modifications; procedures to exchange for a new Vehicle Registration Certificate must be completed when the vehicle has been modified or when the vehicle owner's address has changed.
=> Thus, according to the above regulations, not only during the first-time vehicle registration but also when modifying or changing the paint color of the vehicle, one must bring the vehicle to the registration authority for inspection and comparison.
Respectfully.
