Certificate of Professional Competence of Seafarers: Regulations and Requirements
According to Article 19 of Circular 03/2020/TT-BGTVT (effective from April 15, 2020) stipulates:
- The Certificates of Competency (CoC) are issued to seafarers by the Vietnam Maritime Administration or Maritime Sub-Departments or Maritime Port Authorities authorized by the Vietnam Maritime Administration, in order to assume positions as prescribed in this Circular, other relevant regulations of Vietnamese law, and in accordance with the STCW Convention.
- The validity of the CoC is 05 years from the date of issue, in case the seafarer's remaining working age is less than 05 years, the validity period of the CoC corresponds to the remaining working age of the seafarer as prescribed by labor laws.
