- Control at the Traffic Police Station or at a point on the traffic road
a) The traffic police organize forces at the Traffic Police Station or at a point on the traffic road according to the plan approved by the competent authority to implement: General control of road motor vehicles; control, handle violations during high patrol, and control peak; control, handle violations based on specialized topics; control through professional technical equipment; cooperate with relevant units and agencies to prevent and combat crimes, ...
b) At the Traffic Police Station, install and use professional technical equipment to record the control area. At a point on the traffic road, choose a location with a wide, clear road surface, not obstructing visibility and in compliance with legal regulations. When controlling at night, there must be lighting to ensure sufficient light.
Thus, the case where the traffic police set up checkpoints at curves that obstruct visibility and cause danger is not conforming to regulations.
What Are the Specific Control Contents of Traffic Police?
At Clause 2, Article 10 of Circular 65/2020/TT-BCA, the contents of patrol and control are stipulated. Specifically:
- Control Contents
a) Control documents related to the person and vehicle, including: Driver's license; Certificate of legal knowledge on road traffic; License or Certificate for operating specialized motorcycles; Vehicle registration certificate; Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection for motor vehicles and specialized motorcycles (for types of vehicles required to be inspected); Certificate of civil liability insurance for motor vehicle owners and other documents as required by law;
b) Control the conditions for participating in traffic of the vehicle
Perform control in sequence from front to back, from left to right, from outside to inside, from top to bottom;
Control the shape, exterior dimensions, paint color, front, rear, and side number plates of the vehicles as prescribed;
Control the technical safety and environmental protection conditions of road motor vehicles and specialized motorcycles;
c) Control compliance with legal regulations on road transport activities.
