Can traffic police set up control checkpoints at curved sections of the road?

Can traffic police set up checkpoints at curved road sections? What specifically do traffic police control?I am from a mountainous area, and I would like to ask whether traffic police are permitted to operate at a curved road section. That curve is quite dangerous, and the road is narrow. What specifically do traffic police control?Thank you very much for your legal consultation.

Can Traffic Police Set Up Checkpoints at Curves?

Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 9 of Circular 65/2020/TT-BCA, the patrol and control methods are stipulated as follows:

  1. Control at the Traffic Police Station or at a point on the traffic road

a) The traffic police organize forces at the Traffic Police Station or at a point on the traffic road according to the plan approved by the competent authority to implement: General control of road motor vehicles; control, handle violations during high patrol, and control peak; control, handle violations based on specialized topics; control through professional technical equipment; cooperate with relevant units and agencies to prevent and combat crimes, ...

b) At the Traffic Police Station, install and use professional technical equipment to record the control area. At a point on the traffic road, choose a location with a wide, clear road surface, not obstructing visibility and in compliance with legal regulations. When controlling at night, there must be lighting to ensure sufficient light.

Thus, the case where the traffic police set up checkpoints at curves that obstruct visibility and cause danger is not conforming to regulations.
