Can individuals with severe myopia continue to use a Class B2 driver's license?
Section 2 Article 60 of the Law on Road Traffic 2008 regarding the health of traffic participants is as follows:
The driver must have health appropriate to the type of vehicle and its use. The Minister of Health shall preside, in cooperation with the Minister of Transport, to stipulate health standards for drivers, periodic health examinations for car drivers, and regulations on medical facilities for the health examination of drivers.
Thus, drivers must meet certain health requirements as stipulated by law, including those who already have a driving license must meet these requirements.
In Section III Appendix I of Joint Circular 24/2015/TTLT-BYT-BGTVT, the visual acuity standards for drivers with a B2 license are specified as follows:
Visual acuity at a distance for each eye: good eye < 8/10 or weak eye < 5/10 (even with correction by glasses).
Therefore, in your case as mentioned above, you will no longer meet the conditions to continue driving B2 class vehicles to participate in traffic.
Respectfully!
