According to the new regulations, what are the responsibilities of the Department of Transport in managing the operations of road vehicle weight control stations?
Based on Clause 3, Article 12 of Circular 34/2021/TT-BGTVT stipulating the responsibilities of the Department of Transport as follows:
- Advise the provincial People's Committee to decide on the activation of fixed vehicle weight inspection stations on the local road system; decide on the activation of mobile vehicle weight inspection stations managed by the locality; direct and organize the implementation of vehicle weight inspections on the local road system within the locality; policies for the operation of vehicle weight inspection stations managed by the locality;
- Implement vehicle weight inspections on the local road system and the national highway system delegated for management; cooperate with the Road Management Department to implement vehicle weight inspections on the national highway system passing through the locality when requested by the Road Management Department, the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, or directed by the Ministry of Transport;
- Connect the weighing device data of vehicle weight inspection stations assigned to management with the vehicle weight inspection data management system of the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam;
- Coordinate with the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam to organize training for units, organizations, and individuals under the management authority on the procedure, operation, and maintenance of vehicles and technical equipment of vehicle weight inspection stations and the legal regulations on related administrative violation handling;
- Implement policies and reports as stipulated in Article 10 of this Circular.
