Will a 40-Year-Old Taking the National High School Exam Be Awarded Additional Points?
Pursuant to Article 39 of the National High School Graduation Examination Regulations issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, the following priority points regulations are stipulated:
- The consideration for high school graduation recognition is based on three categories: Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3; in which, Category 1 candidates are the normal candidates who do not receive priority points; Category 2 and Category 3 candidates receive priority points.
- Category 2: An additional 0.25 points for candidates falling under the following circumstances:
+ War invalids, sick soldiers, individuals entitled to policies similar to war invalids with a labor capacity decrease of under 81% (for continuing education);
+ Children of war invalids, sick soldiers, individuals entitled to policies similar to war invalids with a labor capacity decrease of under 81%; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes; children of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; children of Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes;
+ Ethnic minorities;
+ Kinh people, foreigners residing in Vietnam with permanent residence for 3 years or more (up to the exam date) in especially difficult communes, border communes, security zone communes subject to investment under Program 135; in especially difficult coastal and island communes according to current regulations of the Prime Minister; communes in Region I, II, III belonging to ethnic minorities and mountainous areas according to current regulations of the Prime Minister, studying at high schools not located in inner districts of cities under the Central Government for at least 2/3 of the high school study period;
+ Victims of chemical toxins; children of victims of chemical toxins; children of individuals engaged in resistance activities and affected by chemical toxins; individuals recognized by competent authorities as deformed, crippled, with reduced self-sufficiency in daily activities or labor due to the effects of chemical toxins;
+ Aged 35 or older up to the exam date (for continuing education candidates).
Therefore, according to current regulations, applying to the case you mentioned, individuals aged 35 or older will be given priority points in the high school graduation consideration. This priority falls under Category 2 with a point level of 0.25.
