Who are eligible for exception in graduation recognition in 2024 in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Clauses 1, 2 and 3, Article 37 of the Regulation of high school graduation exam issued together with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, candidates who meet the requirements prescribed in Article 12 of the Regulation of high school graduation exam issued together with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT may be granted an exception of graduation recognition in the following cases:
- Those who have an accident, get sick or get into unexpected situations during 10 days before the exam or being unable to take the exam because of the mentioned reasons at the first day of exam.
- Those who have an accident, get sick or get into unexpected situations after taking at least one test and being unable to take the rest of the exam or volunteering for taking the rest of the exam after their recovery.
- Athletes who are eligible for exception of graduation recognition as per Article 5 of Decree 36/2019/ND-CP dated April 29, 2019.

What documents are included in the application for exception in graduation recognition in 2024 in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Clauses 1 and 2, Article 37 of the Regulation of high school graduation exam issued together with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, the application for exception in graduation recognition in 2024 in Vietnam is stipulated as follows:
- Candidates who meet the requirements for the exam may be granted an exception of graduation recognition in the following cases: Those who have an accident, get sick or get into unexpected situations during 10 days before the exam or being unable to take the exam because of the mentioned reasons at the first day of exam. The application includes:
+ The admission and discharge notes of hospital of district level and above are required in the case of sickness and having an accident;
+ Records for unexpected situations verified by the local People’s Committee are required in the case of getting into unexpected situations.
+ Proposal record of exception in graduation recognition of the high school at which the candidate registered for the exam.
+ Proof of academic performance and conduct in 12th grade.
- Those who have an accident, get sick or get into unexpected situations after taking at least one test and being unable to take the rest of the exam or volunteering for taking the rest of the exam after their recovery.
+ Application for granting exception;
+ The admission and discharge notes of hospital of district level and above are required in the case of sickness and having an accident;
+ Records for unexpected situations verified by the local People’s Committee are required in the case of getting into unexpected situations.
+ Proof of academic performance and conduct in 12th grade.
How many extra points do candidates, who won first prize in the national contest, receive for the high school graduation exam in 2024 in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Clause 1 Article 40 of the Regulation of high school graduation exam issued together with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 14 Article 1 of the Circular 05/2021/TT-BGDDT and Article 2 of the Circular 05/2021/TT-BGDDT) stipulating extra points:
1. Students participating in contests and other activities shall receive the amount of extra points as follows:
a) Get individual prizes in the contest of sciences for excellent 12th-graders: Win first, second, third prize in the national contest or first prize in provincial contests: +2.0 points; get consolation prize in the national contests or second prize in provincial contests: +1.5 points; Get third prize in provincial contests: +1.0 points;
b) Get individual or team prizes in practical contests of Physics, Chemistry, Biology; arts, sports contests, exhibitions of national defense education, science and engineering contests, international letter-writing competitions held by education authorities in cooperation with other authorities from provincial level and above for high school students. Individual prizes: first, second or third prize in national contests, first prize in provincial contests or gold medal is granted 2,0 extra points; consolation prize in national contests, fourth prize in national science and engineering contests, second prize in provincial contests or silver medal is granted 1,5 extra points; third prize in provincial contests or bronze medal is granted 1,0 extra point. Team prizes: extra points shall only be awarded to candidates with team prizes at national level; the number of players, athletes and actors of teams shall comply with the rules provided by the organizer of each contest; persons winning team prizes shall be entitled to the same amount of extra points awarded to those winning individual prizes as provided for in this Point. Candidates winning different prizes in different contests shall be eligible for the extra points granted to the highest prize.

As regulated above, candidates, who won first prize in the national contest, shall receive 2.0 extra points for the high school graduation exam in 2024 in Vietnam.
