According to Appendix 6 issued with Official 1957/BGDDT-GDDH in 2024, the regions for admission priority are divided as follows:
- Region 1 (KV1) includes: Areas in Region 1, 2, 3 and areas with particularly difficult hamlets belonging to ethnic and mountainous regions; areas with particularly difficult conditions in coastal and island areas; areas with particularly difficult conditions, border areas, and safe areas eligible for investment under Program 135 as regulated by the Prime Minister.
- Region 2 - rural (KV2-NT) includes: Localities that are not in KV1, KV2, or KV3.
- Region 2 (KV2) includes: Towns, provincial-level cities; suburban towns, districts of central-level cities (excluding areas in KV1).
- Region 3 (KV3) includes: Inner districts of central-level cities. Candidates from KV3 are not eligible for regional priority.

According to the provisions in Article 7 of the Regulations on Admission to Preschool Education and College Education in the field of Early Childhood Education issued with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT, the priority policies in admission are as follows:
Priority policies in admission:
1. Priority based on regions (according to Appendix I of the Regulations)
a) The bonus score for Region 1 (KV1) is 0.75 points, for Region 2 - rural (KV2-NT) is 0.5 points, for Region 2 (KV2) is 0.25 points; Region 3 (KV3) does not receive any bonus score.
b) The admission region for each candidate is determined based on the location of the school where the candidate has studied the longest during their time in high school (or vocational school). If the duration of study is the same in equivalent regions, then the region of the school where the candidate last studied is considered.
c) The following cases are eligible for regional priority based on their permanent residence:
- Students from ethnic boarding schools are entitled to preferential policies and benefits provided by the State as regulated.

According to that, the bonus score for regional priority in the High School Graduation Examination in 2024 is as follows:
- The bonus score for Region 1 (KV1) is 0.75 points.
- The bonus score for Region 2 - rural (KV2-NT) is 0.5 points, and for Region 2 (KV2) is 0.25 points.
- The bonus score for Region 3 (KV3) is not applicable.
In this regard, the admission region for each candidate is determined based on the location of the school where the candidate has studied the longest during their time in high school (or vocational school). How many bonus points are given to the child of a war veteran in the High School Graduation Examination in 2024 in Vietnam?
According to Article 39 of the Regulations on the High School Graduation Examination issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 18 and Clause 19 of Article 1 of Circular 06/2023/TT-BGDDT), the priority points are determined as follows:
Priority Points:
1. The high school graduation recognition is assessed based on three categories: Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3. Candidates in Category 1 are regular candidates and do not receive any bonus points. Candidates in Category 2 and Category 3 are eligible for bonus points.
2. Category 2: An additional 0.25 points are given to candidates who belong to one of the following groups:
a) War veterans, disabled veterans, and individuals who receive policies similar to war veterans with a disability rate below 81% (for General Education and Training candidates).
b) Children of war veterans, disabled veterans, and individuals who receive policies similar to war veterans with a disability rate below 81%; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor; children of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; children of Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor.
c) Ethnic minorities.
d) Vietnamese or foreign residents in Vietnam who have had permanent residence in exceptionally difficult communes, border communes, safe communes under the investment scope of Program 135 according to Decision 135/QD-TTg dated July 31, 1998, by the Prime Minister (counting from the time these communes completed Program 135 or earlier); exceptionally difficult communes in coastal and island areas; Region I, II, III communes and communes with particularly difficult hamlets in ethnic minority and mountainous areas according to the current regulations of the Prime Minister or the Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee, studying at general schools not located within the districts of central-level cities, at least two-thirds of the high school study period.
