Based on Clause 4, Article 14 of the Regulations on the High School Graduation Exam issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT amended by Clause 6, Article 1 of Circular 02/2024/TT-BGDDT regulating the responsibilities of candidates:

4. Must comply with the following regulations in the exam room:

a) Present the Exam Attendance Card to the Exam Supervisor; sit in the correct position with their assigned candidate number;

b) For the purpose of the exam, candidates are allowed to bring the following items into the exam room: Pen; ruler; pencil; eraser; compass; graph ruler; drawing tools; handheld calculator without text editing function and memory card; Vietnam Atlas compiled according to the 2006 General Education Program (without any additional markings or writings);

Prohibited items in the exam room: Charcoal paper, correction pen, alcoholic beverages; weapons and explosive materials; documents, communication devices (information receiving, transmitting, recording, filming) or containing information for cheating during the exam;

c) Before starting the exam, candidates must fully write their candidate number and personal information on the exam paper, test paper, Multiple-Choice Answer Sheet, and draft paper. When receiving the exam paper, they must carefully check the page numbers and the quality of the printed pages; if they find any missing, torn, damaged, blurred pages, they must immediately report to the Exam Supervisor in the exam room, no later than 05 (five) minutes from the start of the exam;

Therefore, in the high school graduation exam in 2024, candidates are strictly prohibited from bringing the following items into the exam room:

What are the eligible candidates for the high school graduation exam in 2024?

Based on Article 12 of the Regulations on the High School Graduation Exam issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT amended by Clause 4, Article 1 of Circular 02/2024/TT-BGDDT, the eligible candidates for the high school graduation exam in 2024 are as follows:

[1] Students who have finished the high school program in in 2024 must meet the following conditions:

- Meet the requirements that in 12th grade their conduct must be classified as Average and above and academic performance must not be classified as Poor;

- The classification of conduct is not required for continuing education learners in guided self-study mode and learners with no requirements of conduct classification;

[2] Those who had finished the high school program but have yet taken or did not pass the high school graduation exams of previous years must meet the following conditions:

- Obtain lower secondary graduation diplomas and also meet the requirements that in 12th grade their conduct must be classified as Average and above and academic performance must not be classified as Poor;

- A person who was disqualified from the previous year’s high school graduation exam due to poor academic performance in grade 12 must take the final exam for any subjects with GPA below 5.0 (at the school in which they were in 12th grade or at the school registered for the exam) and the new GPA meets academic performance requirement as prescribed;

- In case of not meeting the exam eligibility criteria in previous years due to poor conduct classificationin grade 12, they must be confirmed by the commune-level People's Committee where they reside to comply with the laws and regulations of the locality in order to be confirmed by the high school where they study grade 12 to meet the conduct classification criteria as prescribed;

[3] Those who obtain high school graduation diplomas or Diploma Level 4 of VQF/ Intermediate Professional Education Diploma now take the exam as the basis for university and college admission;

- Have studied and passed a given number of high school academic subjects as prescribed.

What are types of papers of the high school graduation exam in 2024 in Vietnam?

Based on Article 4 of the Regulations on the High School Graduation Exam issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, which regulates the exam dates, exam schedule, exam contents, types of papers and time allotted for papers/subjects:

Exam dates, exam schedule, exam contents, types of papers and time allotted for papers/subjects

1. Exam dates, exam schedule: stipulated in annual guidelines for administration of high school graduation exam of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET for short).

2. Exam contents: In the high school curriculum, primarily grade-12 curriculum.

3. Types of papers: Mathematics, Foreign Language, natural science and social science papers shall be in multiple-choice question type papers (hereinafter referred to as “multiple-choice paper”); Literature paper shall be in written paper.

4. Time allotted for papers/subjects: 120 minutes for Literature; 90 minutes for Mathematics; 60 minutes for Foreign language; 50 minutes for each subject of the natural science and social science paper.

Therefore, the types of papers of the high school graduation exam in 2024 are as follows:

- Multiple-choice question type papers for the following subjects:

+ Mathematics (90 minutes)

+ Natural science and social science (50 minutes for each component subject)

+ Foreign Language (60 minutes)

- Written paper for Literature (120 minutes)
