Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 9 of Circular 22/2021/TT-BGDĐT regulating the evaluation of students' academic results:

For subjects evaluated through comments combined with scores, the semester average score (DTBmhk) is used to evaluate students' academic results for each semester, and the year average score (DTBmcn) is used to evaluate students' results for the entire school year. Students' results for each semester and the entire school year are evaluated in one of four levels: Excellent, Good, Achieved, Not achieved.
a) Excellent Level:
- All subjects evaluated through comments are at the Achieved level.
- All subjects evaluated through comments combined with scores have a DTBmhk, DTBmcn of 6.5 points or above, of which at least 06 subjects have a DTBmhk, DTBmcn of 8.0 points or above.

How long is lower secondary education in Vietnam implemented?
Pursuant to Article 28 of the Education Law 2019 regulating the educational level and age of general education:
Article 28. Educational Level and Age of General Education
- Educational levels and age of general education are regulated as follows:
a) Primary education is conducted over 05 school years, from grade one to the end of grade five. Students entering grade one are 06 years old, calculated by year;
b) Lower secondary education is conducted over 04 school years, from grade six to the end of grade nine. Students entering grade six must have completed the primary education program. Students entering grade six are 11 years old, calculated by year;
c) Upper secondary education is conducted over 03 school years, from grade ten to the end of grade twelve. Students entering grade ten must have a lower secondary school diploma. Students entering grade ten are 15 years old, calculated by year.
