What is the Probationary Salary of a Primary School Teacher?

I have just been accepted as a public employee with the professional title of Grade III primary school teacher. I have a bachelor's degree in education. I would like to know how much I will be paid during the probation period.

According to Clause 1, Article 8 of Circular 02/2021/TT-BGDDT regarding the salary classification for primary school teachers, specifically:

Officials appointed to professional titles of primary school teachers as stipulated in this Circular are applicable to the corresponding salary scale issued together with Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004, of the Government of Vietnam on salary policies for officials and public employees and armed forces. To be specific:

- Primary school teacher rank III, code V.07.03.29, applies the salary coefficient of public employees category A1, from salary coefficient 2.34 to salary coefficient 4.98;

- Primary school teacher rank II, code V.07.03.28, applies the salary coefficient of public employees category A2, group A2.2, from salary coefficient 4.00 to salary coefficient 6.38;

- Primary school teacher rank I, code V.07.03.27, applies the salary coefficient of public employees category A2, group A2.1, from salary coefficient 4.40 to salary coefficient 6.78.

According to Clause 1 Article 23 of Decree 115/2020/ND-CP regarding policies for trainees and their mentors, specifically:

During the probation period, trainees receive 85% of the starting salary of the recruited professional title. In cases where the trainee holds a master's degree suitable to the job position requirements, they receive 85% of the second salary level of the recruited professional title; for those with a doctorate degree suitable to the job position requirements, they receive 85% of the third salary level of the recruited professional title. Allowances are received according to the provisions of the law.

Therefore, you hold a university degree and have been recruited to the position of primary school teacher rank III. As such, during the probation period, you will receive 85% of the starting salary (coefficient 2.34) of this position.

Currently, the salary rate is 1,490,000 VND/month. Therefore, you will receive 2,964,000 VND.
