What documents are included in the application for exception in high school graduation recognition in 2023 in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 1 and 2, Article 37 of the Regulation of high school graduation exam issued together with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDĐT stipulating the application for exception in high school graduation recognition in 2023 in Vietnam as follows:

- For those who have an accident, get sick or get into unexpected situations during 10 days before the exam or being unable to take the exam because of the mentioned reasons at the first day of exam, the required documents in the application are:

+ The admission and discharge notes of hospital of district level and above are required in the case of sickness and having an accident or records for unexpected situations verified by the local People’s Committe;

+ Proposal record of exception in graduation recognition of the high school at which the candidate registered for the exam;

+ Proof of academic performance and conduct in 12th grade.

- For those who have an accident, get sick or get into unexpected situations after taking at least one test and being unable to take the rest of the exam or volunteering for taking the rest of the exam after their recovery, the required documents in the application are:

+ Application for granting exception;

+ The admission and discharge notes of hospital of district level and above are required in the case of sickness and having an accident or records for unexpected situations verified by the local People’s Committee are required in the case of getting into unexpected situations;

+ Proof of academic performance and conduct in 12th grade.

03 cases and conditions for exception in high school graduation recognition in 2023 in Vietnam

Pursuant to Article 37 of the Regulation of high school graduation exam issued together with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDĐT, candidates are eligible for exception in high school graduation recognition in 2023 in Vietnam in 03 following cases:

(1) Those who have an accident, get sick or get into unexpected situations during 10 days before the exam or being unable to take the exam because of the mentioned reasons at the first day of exam.

- Conditions for granting exception: Academic performance and conduct in 12th grade shall be classified as Good and above;

(2) Those who have an accident, get sick or get into unexpected situations after taking at least one test and being unable to take the rest of the exam or volunteering for taking the rest of the exam after their recovery.

- Conditions for granting exception: Scores of the taken papers required for graduation recognition shall be 5.0 and above; academic performance and conduct in 12th grade shall be classified as Average for the former and Good for the latter;

(3) Athletes who are eligible for exception of graduation recognition as per Article 5 of Decree No. 36/2019/ND-CP dated April 29, 2019.

- Athletes who have achieved excellent results in national or international sports competitions shall be considered for graduation from high school exam if the time of the competition coincides with the time when the athlete is training abroad or compete in international sports tournaments.

4. Procedures:

a) Candidates shall submit the application of granting exception to the head of units at which candidates registered for the exam in no more than 7 days after the end of the final paper. The head of the unit shall receive and transfer candidates’ applications of granting exception to DETs;

b) The council of graduation recognition shall consider and grant exception for qualified candidates prescribed in Clause 1 and 2 of this Article.

Step 1: Candidates shall submit the application of granting exception to the head of units at which candidates registered for the exam in no more than 7 days after the end of the final paper.

The head of the unit shall receive and transfer candidates’ applications of granting exception to DETs;

Step 2: The council of graduation recognition shall consider and grant exception for qualified candidates.
