What Are the Regulations for University Entrance Standards?
According to Article 6 of Circular 17/2021/TT-BGDDT (Effective from August 7, 2021) prescribing the entry standards for higher education programs as follows:
The entry standards of the training program must clearly define the minimum requirements on qualifications, competencies, and relevant experience for each level, discipline, and training orientation that learners need to meet in order to study successfully and complete the training program.
The entry standards for undergraduate and specialized in-depth training programs at level 7: Learners must have graduated from high school or an equivalent level.
The entry standards for master's programs: Learners must have graduated from a university (or an equivalent level or higher) in a relevant field; have a foreign language proficiency level 3 according to the six-level foreign language competency framework for Vietnam or equivalent. For research-oriented master's programs, learners must have graduated with a fairly good level or higher or have scientific publications related to the field of study.
The entry standards for doctoral programs: Learners must have graduated from a master's program or specialized in-depth training program at level 7 in a relevant field or graduated with excellent grades at the undergraduate level (or an equivalent level or higher) in a relevant field; have a foreign language proficiency level 4 according to the six-level foreign language competency framework for Vietnam (or an equivalent level or higher); have research capability and experience.
