In Clause 4, Article 14 of the Regulation on the High School Graduation Examination issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 6, Article 1 of Circular 02/2024/TT-BGDDT), the responsibilities of candidates are stipulated as follows:

4. Candidates must comply with the following regulations in the examination room:
a) Present their examination card to the examination supervisor; sit in the designated seat with their assigned candidate number;
b) For the purpose of the examination, candidates are allowed to bring the following items into the examination room: pens, rulers, pencils, erasers, compasses, graph drawing rulers, drawing tools, handheld calculators without text editing function and memory cards; Vietnam Atlas compiled according to the 2006 General Education Program (without any additional markings or content);
Prohibited items in the examination room: charcoal paper, correction pens, alcoholic beverages; weapons and explosive substances; communication devices (receiving/transmitting information, recording, filming) or containing information for cheating during the examination;
c) Before starting the examination, candidates must fill in their candidate number and personal information on the examination paper, test paper, Multiple-Choice Answer Sheet, and draft paper. When receiving the examination paper, they must carefully check the page numbers and the quality of the printed pages; if any missing, torn, damaged, blurry pages are found, they must immediately report it to the examination supervisor within 5 minutes from the start of the examination time counting.

According to Article 38 of the Regulation on the High School Graduation Examination issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 13, Article 1 of Circular 05/2021/TT-BGDDT), the provisions regarding the reservation of examination scores are as follows:
Score reservation
1. Candidates who have taken all the required examinations/subjects but have not graduated from high school and have not been disciplined with result cancellation are eligible to reserve their examination scores for recognition of high school graduation in the next consecutive examination period. The reserved examination scores include:
a) Independent exams with a score of 5.0 or higher;
b) Combination exams with a score of 5.0 or higher, and all component subjects of this exam have scores above 1.0;
c) Component subjects of combination exams with a score of 5.0 or higher.
2. Candidates who do not use the reserved scores must take all the registered examinations/subjects to be considered for high school graduation as if they do not have any reserved scores.
As regulated above, candidates are eligible to reserve their scores for the 2024 National High School Graduation Examination if:
- They have taken all the required examinations/subjects but have not graduated from high school.
- They have not been disciplined with result cancellation.
- The reserved examination scores include:
+ Independent exams with a score of 5.0 or higher.
+ Combination exams with a score of 5.0 or higher, and all component subjects of this exam have scores above 1.0.
+ Component subjects of combination exams with a score of 5.0 or higher.
