Will enterprises in Vietnam take 5 days off during the April 30th holiday in 2024?

On April 12th, 2024, the Government issued the Official Dispatch 2450/VPCP-KGVX in 2024, sending it to the Ministry of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs in response to the proposal regarding the exchange of working days during the days off on Victory Day on April 30th and International Workers' Day on May 1st, 2024.

According to this document, the Government agrees with the proposal from the Ministry of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs regarding the exchange of working days during the days off on Victory Day on April 30th and International Workers' Day on May 1st, 2024.

Therefore, officials and public employees nationwide will have a 5 days off from April 27th, 2024, until May 1st, 2024, and will make up for the missed working day on May 4th, 2024.

Additionally, the Government encourages employers to apply the days off on Victory Day on April 30th and International Workers' Day on May 1st, 2024, for workers as regulated for officials and public employees, while ensuring the full implementation of labor regulations and promoting agreements that benefit workers.
