The goal of social science education is to contribute to helping students form and develop key qualities and core competencies on the basis of mastering the basic knowledge system of social sciences, mainly in history and geography; help learners better understand the world in which they live, the connection and interaction between people and people, between people and the surrounding environment, between peoples and the world; inspire students to discover themselves, the issues of the country, the region and the world that are directly related to life; help students understand, think independently and creatively. Through social science education, students may have their social science competencies developed (social science awareness, social inquiry and application of learned knowledge and skills to self-study) and discover themselves, community, society;

Social science education is carried out in the subjects of Nature and Society, History and Geography. The subject of Nature and Society (social section) is organized in content threads that are very close to the students such as family and local community. Based on the educational objectives and requirements to be achieved on the quality and competence of the Literacy Program, the program of each subject determines the objectives and requirements to be achieved in terms of the educational quality, capacity and content of that subject, ensuring to equip students with basic general knowledge, meeting the requirements of continuing education in the lower secondary education program or better satisfying their own work and career.
