What are objectives of the Literacy Elimination Program in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Section I, Part One of the Literacy Elimination Program issued together with Circular 33/2021/TT-BGDĐT stipulating objectives of the Literacy Elimination Program in Vietnam as follows:

The Literacy Program provides students with basic and necessary knowledge and skills to:

- Help students form and develop key qualities with specific expressions: love for the homeland and country, consciously preserving national cultural identity, sense of responsibility for themselves, family and community.

- Help students initially form common competencies, develop language competence in all reading, writing, speaking and listening skills at a basic level: correct reading, text fluency; understand the main content and information of the text; contact, compare outside the text; correct spelling and grammar; write a number of sentences, paragraphs, short essays; speak clearly; understand what the speaker is saying.

- Contribute to the formation and development of mathematical competence with the following requirements: performing simple thinking operations; select mathematical operations and arithmetic formulas to present and express the contents, ideas, and ways of solving problems; be able to use the language of mathematics, tools and simple math learning facilities to perform simple math learning tasks.

- Help students gradually form and develop natural science competencies through observation and experimentation, synthetically applying knowledge and skills to solve problems in life; know how to respect the laws of nature, know how to behave with nature in accordance with the requirements of sustainable development of the environment and society. Forming and developing social science competencies through the ability to perceive social sciences, learn about society and apply learned knowledge and skills to self-exploration and self-discovery, the community, analyze and solve social problems.

- Help students form and develop technology and informatics capacity through activities: technology awareness; use technology; use and manage information and communication technology facilities; application of information and communication technology in learning and self-study.

What is the expression of patriotic qualities of students in the Literacy Elimination Program in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Subsection 1, Section II, Part One of the Literacy Elimination Program issued together with Circular 33/2021/TT-BGDĐT stipulating the expression of patriotic qualities of students in the Literacy Elimination Program in Vietnam as follows:

- Be ready to perform the obligation to defend the Fatherland; participate in gratitude and gratitude activities for those who have contributed to the homeland and the country.

- Have a sense of protecting cultural heritages; actively and actively participate in and mobilize others to participate in activities to protect and promote the values ​​of cultural heritage.

- Voluntarily implement and mobilize others to comply with the provisions of the law, contributing to the protection and construction of the socialist State of Vietnam.

- Struggle with conspiracies and actions infringing upon the territory, national borders, seas and airspaces under the sovereignty and sovereign rights of the country with attitudes and actions in accordance with the provisions of law. .

What is the expression of compassionate qualities of students in the Literacy Elimination Program in Vietnam? 

Pursuant to Subsection 1, Section II, Part One of the Literacy Elimination Program issued together with Circular 33/2021/TT-BGDĐT stipulating the expression of compassionate qualities of students in the Literacy Elimination Program in Vietnam as follows:

- Love, care and take care of family members; ready to sympathize, help, defend and share with the weak and disadvantaged (sick people, disabled people, ...), people affected by natural disasters, epidemics.

- Raise the awareness of the good morals of the nation "Respect above, yield below", "Be deferential to the teacher and respect their morals".

- Respect the honor, health and privacy of others.

- Disagree with the bad, the evil; not promote or participate in violent acts.

- Actively and actively participate in and mobilize others to participate in charity activities and community service activities.

- Respect for the cultural diversity of ethnic groups in Vietnam and other ethnic groups.
