Vietnam: Is it permissible to attend a school located at a place different from residence?
Under Clause 2, Article 1 of Circular 50/2012/TT-BDGDDT, supplementing Article 40a after Article 40 of Circular 41/2010/TT-BGDDT regarding students transferring schools in Vietnam:
Primary school students who wish to transfer schools in Vietnam may be transferred to primary schools in their residence or to primary schools outside their residence if the receiving school agrees.
Thus, you can send your child to attend schools outside the residence. You must prepare documents to send my child to the receiving school:
- Application for school transfer from the parents or guardians of the student;
- Academic records;
- Copy of the birth certificate;
- Academic performance report (for cases of school transfer during the school year).
Within the period of 01 working day, the principal of the receiving school must provide consent for acceptance on the application. If there is no consent, the reason must be clearly stated on the application and returned to you.
Thus, if Tan An 2 primary school refuses to admit your child, your child cannot be transferred to this school. You can submit the school transfer application for your child to Tan An 1 and Tan An 3 schools.
The above is the content sent to you by the Editorial Board.
Respectfully!
