Training Duration for Master's Degree Not Exceeding 4 Years
According to Clause 3, Article 3 of the Master's Degree Training Regulation (Issued together with Circular 15/2014/TT-BGDDT), the time frame for master's degree training is stipulated as follows: The training duration for a master's degree ranges from one to two academic years. Specifically:
- A minimum of 1 academic year for fields and specializations that require 5 or more academic years and accumulation of 150 or more credits at the undergraduate level;
- From one and a half to two academic years for fields and specializations not specified in Point a of this Clause;
- Based on the regulations regarding the training program in Clause 3, Article 20 of this Regulation, the head of the training institution will stipulate the specific training duration and the extension of training duration tailored to each field and specialization. The extended training duration must not exceed two years beyond the period specified in Points a and b of this Clause.
Thus, according to this regulation, the training duration for a master's degree is from one to two academic years. The training duration may be extended to suit each field and specialization. However, the extended training duration must not exceed two years beyond the period specified in Points a and b of this Clause.
