How many extra points are awarded to individuals who win prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition in the high school graduation exams in Vietnam?
Based on Article 43 of the Regulations on High School Graduation Exams issued with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDDT on extra points:
Article 43. Extra points
Students who participate in the competitions and activities listed below during their high school years are awarded extra points for high school graduation recognition:
- Winning individual prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition: Winning first, second, or third prizes in the national exam or first prize at the provincial level are awarded 2.0 points; encouragement prizes in the national exam or second prize at the provincial level are awarded 1.5 points; third prize at the provincial level is awarded 1.0 point;
- Winning individual and team prizes in practical experiments in Physics, Chemistry, Biology; art competitions; physical education and sports; national defense education festivals; science and technology contests; international letter writing competitions organized by the Education sector in cooperation with specialized sectors from the provincial level or higher.
a) For individual prizes: Winning first, second, or third national prizes or first prize at the provincial level or a Gold Medal is awarded 2.0 points; encouragement prizes at the national level or fourth prize in national science and technology competitions or second prize at the provincial level or a Silver Medal are awarded 1.5 points; third prize at the provincial level or a Bronze Medal are awarded 1.0 point;

According to the above regulations, individuals winning prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition are awarded extra points for high school graduation as follows:
- Awarded 2.0 points: Winning first, second, or third prizes in the national exam or first prize at the provincial level
- Awarded 1.5 points: Winning encouragement prizes in the national exam or second prize at the provincial level
- Awarded 1.0 point: Winning third prize at the provincial level
