According to Article 15 of the Regulations on Undergraduate Education Issued together with Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT regarding temporary leave of absence and withdrawal from study, it states:
- Students can apply for temporary leave of absence and retain the results of the courses they have already completed in the following cases:
+ Being mobilized into the armed forces;
+ Being mobilized by a competent agency as a national representative to participate in international competitions or tournaments;
+ Sickness, maternity, or accidents requiring long-term treatment with certification from an authorized medical examination and treatment facility as prescribed by the Ministry of Health;
+ For other personal reasons, but the student must have completed at least one semester at the training institution and not be in cases of being considered for expulsion or disciplinary action.
- The time for temporary leave of absence for personal reasons must be counted towards the official study period as stipulated in Clause 5, Article 2 of these regulations.
...
According to the above regulation, the time for temporary leave of absence for personal reasons must be counted towards the official study period in the training program. Therefore, the time you are absent due to an accident, if certified by an authorized medical examination and treatment facility, will not be counted towards the official study period.
