Responsibilities of Teachers in Evaluating Primary School Students

The responsibilities of teachers in evaluating primary school students are stipulated in Article 16 of the Regulations on Evaluating Primary School Students issued with Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT. Specifically:

- Homeroom Teachers:

+ Responsible for assessing and compiling the educational results of students in the class; completing student evaluation documentation as per regulations; verifying and transferring students' educational results to the next class.

+ Privately notifying parents about the evaluation results of their child's learning and behavioral process as well as the educational outcomes.

+ Guiding students in self-evaluation and in evaluating their peers and group members. Educating parents about the evaluation content and methods according to these Regulations; coordinating and guiding parents to participate in the evaluation process.

- Subject Teachers:

+ Responsible for assessing the learning and behavioral process and the learning outcomes of students in the subjects or educational activities as per regulations.

+ Coordinating with the homeroom teacher, other class teachers, and parents in evaluating students; completing student evaluation documentation; verifying students' educational results.

+ Guiding students in self-evaluation and in evaluating their peers and group members.

- Teachers monitor the progress of students, noting any areas where students have not yet completed or have shown improvement in their learning and behavior.

Rights and Responsibilities of Students

Article 17 of the Regulations on Evaluating Primary School Students issued with Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT specifically stipulates as follows:

  1. Have the right to express opinions and receive guidance and explanations from teachers and the principal about evaluation results.

  2. Actively engage in self-evaluation and peer evaluation following the guidance of teachers.

  3. Perform well on the tasks specified in the Primary School Regulations; comply with the school's internal rules and regulations, and actively participate in learning and training.
