Reducing Teaching Hours for Teachers with Concurrent Responsibilities
According to Clause 1, Article 6 of Circular 28/2009/TT-BGDDT:
The teaching workload is the number of theoretical or practical periods each teacher must teach in a week. To be specific: the teaching workload of secondary school teachers is 19 periods.
According to Clause 5, Article 8 of this Circular: Teachers who concurrently hold the position of Head of a subject group are granted a reduction of 3 periods/week.
At Point a, Clause 2, Article 3 of Circular 08/2016/TT-BGDDT, there is a regulation that secondary school teachers who concurrently hold the position of Chairman of the grassroots trade union (non-specialized) are granted a reduction of 3 teaching hours/week.
Based on Clause 5, Article 9 of this Circular: To ensure the quality of teaching and work, each teacher shall not concurrently hold more than 2 positions and shall enjoy the workload reduction policies of the position with the highest reduction in periods.
Therefore, in summary, secondary school teachers who concurrently hold the positions of Head of a subject group and Chairman of the grassroots trade union are granted a reduction of 3 periods/week.
