Paternal Uncle of the Doctoral Candidate Still Allowed to Sit on the Dissertation Evaluation Council
According to Clause 5, Article 19 of the Regulation on Admission and Training at the Doctoral Level (issued together with Circular 08/2017/TT-BGDDT), the following is stipulated:
The parents, spouse, children, and siblings of the doctoral candidate are not permitted to participate in the school evaluation council for the dissertation.
The uncle of the doctoral candidate does not fall under this case, so the uncle of the doctoral candidate can still participate in the school evaluation council if he meets the member standards of the council stipulated in Clause 2 of this Article and is named in the Decision to establish the school evaluation council by the Head of the training institution (Clause 1 of this Article).
