Notice on whether a Math score of 3.5 constitutes a weak academic performance
Based on Clauses 3 and 4, Article 13 of the Regulation on Evaluation and Classification of Secondary School and High School Students issued together with Circular 58/2011/TT-BGDDT and Clause 6, Article 2 of Circular 26/2020/TT-BGDDT:
- Average classification, if the following standards are met:
a) The average score of all subjects is 5.0 or higher, in which the average score of at least one of the three subjects Mathematics, Literature, or Foreign Language is 5.0 or higher; for students in a specialized class of a specialized high school, an additional condition is the average score in the specialized subject must be 5.0 or higher;
b) No subject has an average score below 3.5;
c) Subjects evaluated by remarks achieve a D grade.
- Weak classification: The average score of all subjects is 3.5 or higher, no subject has an average score below 2.0.

According to this regulation, if the student has an average score of all subjects of 5.0 or higher; Literature, Foreign Language have at least one subject above 5.0; no subject below 3.5, then the student's academic performance will be classified as average.
If the conditions for being classified as average are not met, the student will be classified as weak, or even poor. It is necessary to rely on the average scores of the subjects to determine specifically.
