Minority Ethnic People: Additional Points Awarded for Official Examinations?
According to Article 5 of Decree 24/2010/ND-CP, amended by Clause 2 Article 1 of Decree 161/2018/ND-CP, the regulations on preferences in recruiting officials are as follows:
"1. Subjects and preference points in official recruitment examinations or assessments:
a) Heroes of the Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, war invalids, persons entitled to policies like war invalids, Category B war invalids: awarded 7.5 points added to the exam results in round 2;
b) Ethnic minorities, army officers, police officers, professional soldiers, cryptographic personnel transferring sectors, children of martyrs, children of war invalids, children of sick soldiers, children of persons entitled to policies like war invalids, children of Category B war invalids, children of revolutionary activists before the general uprising (before August 19, 1945), biological children of those who participated in the resistance and were exposed to toxic chemicals, children of Heroes of the Armed Forces, children of Labor Heroes: awarded 5 points added to the exam results in round 2;
c) Persons completing military service, obligatory service in the public security forces, members of the youth volunteer team, members of young intellectual volunteers participating in rural and mountainous development for 24 months or more who have completed their tasks: awarded 2.5 points added to the exam results in round 2.
- In cases where candidates in the official recruitment examination or assessment are eligible for multiple preferences as specified in clause 1 of this Article, only the highest preference points will be added to the exam results in round 2 as specified in clause 2 Article 8 and clause 2 Article 12 of this Decree."
Thus, under these provisions, as an ethnic Tay candidate for the official recruitment examination, you will be awarded 5 points added to the exam results in round 2.
