Kinh Ethnic Male with Height of Only 1.63 m Unable to Apply to Military School 2?

Clause 3 Article 1 of Circular 42/2017/TT-BQP and Clause 4 Article 1 of Circular 24/2018/TT-BQP stipulate health standards as follows:

The training schools for commanding, political, logistical officers, including academies: Logistics, Air Defense - Air Force, Navy, Border Guard, and officer schools: Military School 1, Military School 2, Political, Artillery, Engineering, Tank - Armored Vehicle, Information, Commando, Chemical Defense:

- Regarding Physical Fitness: Male candidates must be at least 1.65 m in height and weigh at least 50 kg;

Candidates with permanent residence registration for 3 years or more in Area 1, islands, and candidates belonging to ethnic minorities applying to the schools: Candidates (both male and female) are to be recruited if their physical fitness reaches Type 1 and Type 2 according to the provisions in Section I Appendix 1 on Classification of Health by Physical Fitness and Illnesses, issued together with the Inter-Ministry Circular No. 16/2016/TTLT-BYT-BQP, with the condition that male candidates must be at least 1.62 m in height;

Male candidates belonging to 16 very small ethnic minorities according to the provisions of Clause 1 Article 2 of Decree No. 57/2017/ND-CP dated May 9, 2017, of the Government of Vietnam on stipulating policies for admission preferences and support for preschool children and students of very small ethnic minorities (including the ethnic groups: Cong, Mang, Pu Peo, Si La, Co Lao, Bo Y, La Ha, Ngai, Chut, O Du, Brau, Ro Mam, Lo Lo, Lu, Pa Then, La Hu) applying to all the schools: The height requirement is reduced to 1.60 m, other standards are applied as for candidates belonging to ethnic minorities in general;

Therefore, based on the above regulations, only the case of your friend with a permanent residence registration for 3 years or more in Area 1 would meet the height requirement to apply for Military School 2.
