Is Rounding Allowed for Semester Exam Scores?
According to Clause 4, Article 8 of the Regulations on assessment and classification of lower secondary and upper secondary students issued together with Circular No. 58/2011/TT-BGDDT, rounding provisions for periodic tests are as follows:
Scores for regular tests in essay form are whole numbers, scores for regular tests in multiple-choice form or with a multiple-choice component, and scores for periodic tests are whole numbers or decimals rounded to the first decimal place.
Therefore, the score for periodic tests is rounded to the first decimal place if it is a decimal.
Hence, when you score 5.7 in a semester exam, it will not be rounded up to 6.
