Is it permissible for high school students to wear makeup to school?
Article 36 of the Charter of Secondary Schools and High Schools issued with Circular 32/2020/TT-BGDDT stipulates the conduct and attire of students as follows:
- The behavior, language, and conduct of students must be appropriate, respectful, courteous, friendly, ensuring cultural values, and suitable for the ethics and lifestyle of secondary school students.
- Student attire must be neat, clean, tidy, suitable for the age, and convenient for learning and activities at school. Depending on the conditions of each school, the principal may decide for students to wear uniforms if agreed upon by the school and the Parent Representative Board of the school.
According to Article 37 of this Charter, students are prohibited from the following actions:
- Insulting dignity, honor, or infringing on the physical body of teachers, staff of the school, others, and other students.
- Cheating in studies, exams, tests, and admissions.
- Buying, selling, or using alcohol, beer, tobacco, narcotics, other stimulants, fireworks, or explosive substances.
- Using mobile phones or other devices during class time for non-learning purposes or without teacher permission.
- Fighting, causing disorder, or disturbing security at school and in public places.
- Using or exchanging cultural products with violent, obscene content; using or playing with toys or games that negatively impact their healthy development.
- Students are prohibited from other behaviors that are legally forbidden.
=> It is apparent that currently, there is no regulation prohibiting high school students from wearing makeup to school. However, to meet cultural standards and age appropriateness, schools can still stipulate their own regulations in their internal policies.
Therefore, you should pay attention to your school's specific regulations. If the school does not prohibit it, you may wear light makeup to school, avoiding overly extravagant makeup that is inappropriate for your age and inconvenient for learning.
Respectfully!
