Is a Student Considered Excellent If They Score 8 in Math and 9 in All Other Subjects?
According to Clause 2, Article 9 of the Regulations on Primary School Student Assessment issued together with Circular 27/2020/TT-BGDDT, provisioned as follows:
At the end of the school year, based on the process of aggregating the assessment results on learning for each subject, educational activities, and each essential quality and core capacity, the homeroom teacher performs:
Assessment of students' educational results into four levels:
- Excellent: Students whose assessment results for subjects and educational activities achieve Good completion; qualities and capacities reach Good; the end-of-year periodic examination scores for each subject are 9 points or higher;
- Good Completion: Students who have not achieved Excellent level but have assessment results for subjects and educational activities at Good completion level; qualities and capacities reach Good; the end-of-year periodic examination scores for each subject are 7 points or higher;
.....
Conditions for students to be classified at the Excellent level:
- Assessment of subjects and educational activities at Good completion level;
- Good qualities and capacities;
- End-of-year periodic examination scores of 9 points or higher.
Therefore, in the case where your child scores 8 points in mathematics, it does not meet the above conditions. Hence, the child can be classified at the Good completion level; kindly adhere to the above regulation.
