What are rules of counting up points of script sheets in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 27 of the Regulation on high school graduation exam issued together with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDĐT (amended by Clause 12 Article 1 of the Circular 05/2021/TT-BGDĐT) stipulating rule for marking of scripts as follows:
Marking of scripts
1. General provisions concerning marking of scripts:
a) Examiners shall follow the marking scheme, answer key and grading scale of the MOET; script is graded on scale 0-10, counted up to 0.25; each script is marked through two independent rounds by two examiners from two different Marking Teams;
b) The Secretary Board of Exam Council will deliver the envelope of scripts with headers removed and the record of scores to Lead of Marking Subject;
c) Lead of Marking Subject shall gather all Marking Team Leaders and examiners to announce the Regulation, discuss the answer key and marking scheme, and grade at least 10 scripts; then, conduct the marking through two independent rounds in two separated rooms. For Exam Councils with 30.000 candidates or more, Lead of Marking Subject or a Marking Team Leader authorized by Lead of Marking Subject shall organize marking in groups or teams;
d) The envelope of scripts shall be handed over to an examiner who is chosen by casting lot.

Therefore, the total score of the high school graduation script sheet will be rounded to 2 (two) decimal places if it is a fractional score.
The script exam will be graded on a scale of 10 and each script sheet will be graded twice independently by two examiners from two different grading teams.

1. Grade-point average for graduation assessment: consists of scores of papers for high school graduation assessment as prescribed in point a clause 3 Article 12 of this Regulation, bonus points, extra points (if any) and the grade-point average of 12th grade, score of each paper/subject will be converted into scale 1-10.
a) The grade-point average (GPA) for high school students is calculated as follows:

Pursuant to Article 42 of the Regulation on high school graduation exam issued together with the Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDĐT stipulating high school graduation recognition as follows:
High school graduation recognition
1. Candidates who meet the requirements of taking the exam, have no discipline record at the level of score disposal and above, have all papers and component subjects in combined papers scored greater than 1 point in scale 1-10 and have the grade-point average for graduation assessment from 5 and above are qualified to be recognized as high school graduates.
2. Candidates who meet the requirements of taking the exam and have the grant of exemption from all of papers as prescribed in Article 36 of this Regulation shall be recognized as high school graduates.
The points for the high school graduation exam in 2023 can only be taken to two decimal places and must be 5.0 points or higher. Therefore, if the points are still 4.98 after rounding to two decimal places, the student will not pass the high school graduation exam.
