In 2020, Are Students from Area 3 Eligible for Additional Points When Entering University?
Based on Clause 5 Article 7 of Circular 09/2020/TT-BGDDT (Effective from June 22, 2020), the framework for priority point allocation by subject and region is as follows:
- The difference in admission scores between two consecutive groups of subjects is 1.0 (one point), and between two consecutive regions is 0.25 (a quarter point) corresponding to the total score of 3 exams/subjects (in the combination of subjects for admission) on a 10-point scale for each exam/subject (without multiplying the coefficient);
- Based on the priority point allocation regulation in point a of this clause, schools shall determine the priority points for admission according to other equivalent scoring scales based on the priority points/total admission scores ratio specified at point a of this clause.
Admission regions in order of priority include:
- Region 1 (KV1) comprises:
Communes in areas I, II, III in ethnic and mountainous regions as prescribed during the time the candidate attends high school or intermediate level; particularly difficult communes in coastal and island areas; particularly difficult communes, border communes, communes in safe zones included in the investment scope of Program 135 as prescribed by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam;
- Region 2 - rural (KV2-NT) comprises:
Localities not belonging to KV1, KV2, KV3;
- Region 2 (KV2) comprises:
District-level towns, provincial cities; district-level towns, suburban districts of centrally-run cities (except communes under KV1);
- Region 3 (KV3) comprises:
Inner districts of centrally-run cities. Candidates from KV3 are not eligible for regional priority.
=> Therefore, candidates from region 3 are not eligible for regional priority, so if you study in region 3 when applying to universities, you will not receive regional priority points.
The above is the support content!
Sincerely!
