Improving Grades Will Not Result in Graduation with Honors?
According to Clause 3, Article 14 of the Regulations issued with Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT, it is stipulated:
The graduation classification is determined based on the cumulative GPA for the entire course as specified in Clause 5, Article 10 of these Regulations, wherein the graduation classification of students with outstanding and good cumulative GPAs will be downgraded by one level if they fall into one of the following cases:
- The credits for the retaken modules exceed 5% of the total credits required for the entire program;
- The student has been disciplined from the warning level or higher during their study time.
=> Therefore, university students who retake modules to improve their grades during their studies will be downgraded to good if they are graduating with an outstanding GPA, and to average if they are graduating with a good GPA. However, this downgrading only applies if the credits for the retaken modules exceed 5% of the total credits for the entire program.
Respectfully.
