Hello, I'm a student of ethnic minorities which have few people go to school who just enrolled in the city. I know that students like me are supported with tuition fees. Can you tell me, how much money do students of ethnic minorities which have few people go to university get support? What is support period?

How much money are students of ethnic minorities which have few people go to university supported in Vietnam?

In Clause 1, Article 4 of Decree 57/2017/ND-CP stipulating the study support policy for students of ethnic minorities which have few people as follows:

1. Support level:

a) Ethnic minority preschool children with very few people studying at preschool education institutions are entitled to a learning support level equal to 30% of the base salary/child/month.

b) Very few ethnic minority students studying at primary schools, junior high schools and high schools are entitled to a study support level equal to 40% of the base salary/student/month.

c) Students of very few ethnic minorities who study at semi-boarding general schools for ethnic minorities or who are semi-boarding students studying at a public high school with part-boarding students are entitled to a study support level equal to 60% of the base salary/student/month.

d) Students of very few ethnic minorities studying at boarding schools for ethnic minorities are entitled to a study support level equal to 100% of the base salary/student/month.

dd) Students of very few ethnic minorities studying at pre-university schools, faculties, higher education institutions, and vocational education institutions are entitled to a study support level equal to 100% of their base salary/student/month.

Thus, if you are an ethnic minority with very few people studying at university, you will receive a study support equal to 100% of the base salary/person/month, equivalent to 1,490,000 VND/person/month in Vietnam.

In Clause 2, Article 4 of Decree 57/2017/ND-CP stipulating the policy of academic support for students of ethnic minorities which have few people as follows:

2. Support period: 12 months/year for those who have studied for 9 months/year or more; In case the subjects study for less than 9 months/year, they are entitled to the actual study time.

According to this Article, you will have a support period of 12 months/year when you have studied for 9 months/year or more or if you do not study for 9 months/year, you will be entitled to the actual study time at the school.

What are principles of learning support for students from ethnic minorities which have few people in Vietnam?

In Clause 3, Article 4 of Decree 57/2017/ND-CP stipulating the study support policy for students of ethnic minorities which have few people as follows:

3. Principles of enjoyment:

a) Students of very few ethnic minorities study at pre-university schools, faculties, higher education institutions, and vocational education institutions, if they study at the same time in many faculties in the same school; educational institutions or studying in many different educational institutions are entitled to the support only once. In case a student is suspended from studying, the suspension period will not be entitled to support. In case a student is forced to withdraw from school, the support policy shall be discontinued immediately after the withdrawal.

b) In case preschoolers, pupils and students are eligible for many support policies of the same nature, only one policy with the highest level of support will be enjoyed, specifically:

- Students of very few ethnic minorities who study at primary schools, junior high schools and high schools are entitled to the study support policies specified in this Decree and are not entitled to support for tuition fees. The set of regulations in Decree No. 86/2015/ND-CP dated October 2, 2015 stipulating the mechanism of collection and management of tuition fees for educational institutions under the national education system and the policy of exemption and reduction tuition fees, support for study expenses from the 2015-2016 school year to the 2020-2021 school year.

- Ethnic minority students who study at semi-boarding general schools for ethnic minorities or who are semi-boarding students at public high schools with part-boarding students are entitled to the study support policies specified in Decree No. This Decree is not entitled to the policy of meal support specified in Decree No. 116/2016/ND-CP dated July 18, 2016 of the Government stipulating policies to support students and high schools in extremely difficult communes and villages.

- Students of very few ethnic minorities studying at boarding schools for ethnic minorities and pre-university schools who are entitled to the study support policies specified in this Decree are not entitled to the policy scholarships specified in Joint Circular No. 109/2009/TTLT/BTC-BGDDT dated May 29, 2009 of the Inter-Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Education and Training on guiding a number of financial regimes for students of popular schools boarding and ethnic preparatory schools.

- Students from ethnic minorities which have few people studying at higher education institutions who are entitled to the study support policies specified in this Decree are not entitled to the study expenses support specified in Decision No. 66/ 2013/QD-TTg dated November 11, 2013 of the Prime Minister stipulating the policy to support study expenses for students from ethnic minorities studying at higher education institutions.

- Students from ethnic minorities which have few people who study at vocational education institutions are entitled to study support policies specified in this Decree are not entitled to the policy scholarships specified in Decision 53/2015/QD-TTg dated October 20, 2015 of the Prime Minister on boarding policy for college and intermediate students who are not entitled to support for study expenses specified in Decision No. No. 66/2013/QD-TTg dated November 11, 2013 of the Prime Minister stipulating the policy of supporting study expenses for students from ethnic minorities studying at higher education institutions.

The above is principle of enjoying study support for students of ethnic minorities which have few people go to university in Vietnam.
